Co-led art direction and UX for The LEGO Group Bricktacular, a first-of-its-kind AR building experience designed to bring meaningful play back into everyday life. Built for both mobile and Snap Spectacles, the experience let players create with their hands, guide builds with their voice, and construct directly onto real-world surfaces through advanced spatial computing. By combining tactile interaction design, thoughtful user testing, and playful creative direction, Bricktacular transformed passive screen time into millions of minutes of active imagination.

Turning 10 physical bricks into infinite play:
We partnered with LEGO to create an always-on AR game that transforms a handful of physical bricks into an endless creative playground across mobile and Snap Spectacles.
The result blurred physical play and digital imagination into one seamless mixed-reality experience.



Challenge:
Most branded AR experiences are short-lived novelty.

LEGO needed something with:
  • replayability
  • imagination
  • physical interaction
  • genuine product magic

Not content—play.



Insight:
A few bricks can become anything.
The system shouldn’t tell players what to build—it should invite them to imagine more.


That meant designing for:
  • creativity over completion
  • discovery over instruction
  • delight over optimization


Design Approach:
Bricktacular was designed as a mixed reality play system powered by hand tracking, voice interaction, spatial anchoring, tactile UI, playful reward loops, and open-ended creative play.

The goal was simple: make it feel unmistakably LEGO.

Optimistic, colorful, tactile, and imaginative, every detail drew from LEGO’s iconic visual language, from its bold palette and whimsical animations to custom 3D brick models and intuitive playful UI. The result was a premium AR experience rooted in the joy of building.
